Week One Players of the Week Announced
Prospect League announces the ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Week and the Hitter of the Week for the first week of the 2025 season.
MAHOMET, Ill. – The Prospect League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for week one of the 2025 season from May 27 to June 2.
The Week 1 Hitter of the Week is Kooper Schulte from the Burlington Bees and the University of Iowa.
In 7 games and 31 at-bats this past week, Schulte hit .387 with a league-leading 12 hits, 9 runs scored, and 12 runs batted in to go along with 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 home runs. He grabbed 24 total bases, went 2-2 in steals, and put up a 1.191 on-base + slugging percentage.
Schulte hit .268 in 47 games this spring for Iowa with 33 hits, 21 runs, and 25 RBIs.
The Week 1 ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Week is Cooper Casteel from the Jackson Rockabillys and Lee University.
In 1 game and 6.0 innings pitched this past week, Casteel recorded a 0.00 ERA with 0 runs, 4 hits, 1 walk, and 10 strikeouts.
Casteel pitched in 14 games this past spring for Denison, working 77.2 innings on the mound with a 6-5 record, 60 strikeouts, and a 3.24 ERA.
