CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO  – The Catfish are headed to the Western Conference Championship game with a 7-2 victory over the O'Fallon Hoots Friday at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau.

The South Division Champion Catfish will host the Northwest Division Champion LumberKings for the Western Conference Championship on Sunday.

It was all Catfish before the Hoots could get off the ground. A scoreless beginning ended quickly as the Catfish plated 3 runs in the 2nd inning courtesy of a Tank Sims triple.

The Hoots grabbed their first run the following frame on a Daniel Gierer RBI single.

Leading 3-1, the Catfish added 4 more on a Hayden Nazarenus 2-run home run, a Sims RBI double, and a Nathan Bowie RBI single in the 4th.

Gierer gave the Hoots their second run with a solo shot in the 6th, but that was the end of the scoring.

Sean Williams picked up the victory for the Catfish with 9 strikeouts across 6 innings, giving up just 2 runs.

Turning Point
Two big innings by the Catfish by the end of the 4th was too much for the Hoots to overcome.
